The point is you should not do something if you are not ready.Especially sex.The age group 16 to 21 years is confused and doesnt know the meaning of love.Guys in this age group are driven by hormones,and not love.Sex is something that you dont want at this age.
Also,the fact that you apologized means that you are insecure about being alone.Its better to be alone than to hurt yourself.It doesnt mean you love the guy.A mature guy would not press you and try to pin you down.You should stop having guilty feelings.You have a right to reject someone even if it makes them angry.
