i've never heard that before 1crazyemo, but it sounds like a good idea!
i always use a leave-in conditioner before i blowdry, matrix is my favorite brand. it takes away frizz and makes it shiny

i like shiny hair, but i'd never turn the shower to cold to do that.
i use a leave in conditioner spray to get rid of tangles post-shower. there's less hair-breakage that way. also, my hair looks best when i keep it trimmed regularly. then the dead ends aren't sticking around.

[color=red][color=red]to keep my hair shiny i use shampoo and then more conditioner than shampoo. i also run the brush down my hair 100 times a day... i heard that makes it ver smooth and very shiny.

i use a professional conditioner once a week. clairol is a good brand. i have color-treated hair and this helps it stay shiny and not get dry from the coloring!

i use the matrix sleek look products to help my hair get rid of frizz, but if you have thin hair you should try their amplify products. they're supposed to thicken your hair. I've never tried them, but I trust the brand because the stuff I use works really good! here's where you can get the amplify stuff:

BLACK hair needs constant moisture. To create the moisture that your hair needs: moisturize black hair with coconut oil, or any conditioning treatment of your choice. Cover hair with a self-warming conditioning cap, wear this all day and all night. This traps the moisture in your hair and keeps hair from becoming dried-out, brittle, and snapping off. If you must style your hair for work, keep it really simple--NO CHEMICALS, NO HEAT. Pull hair back into a professional bun (if you need to add hair then do so). You may also want to consider covering your hair with a fashionable scarf or hat and keeping your conditioning treatment in all day. When you return home, recondition and put hair into the self-warming conditioning cap again. Do this RELIGIOUSLY (without fail) for three-to-six months and I guarantee you will see stronger, longer, healthier hair. This is an excellent treatment for growing out over-processed, damaged tortured hair or that has been braided for extended period of time. If you stick with this treatment, you will see in a short period of time your hair growing stronger, longer, and healthier, guaranteed!

Dear Raluca,
I too have naturally dark hair that is prematurely gray, so I must die my hair with permanent color once a month. Relaxing my hair, dying my hair, blow-drying, hot-irons, and flat ironing made it impossible for me to keep a full head of hair. So I had to decide if I was going to have straight hair or healthy hair. I opted for the later. I stopped relaxing, and salon styling my hair on a weekly basis.
I went into complete low-maintenance mode, because you know the less you do to your hair the stronger it will become. Nevertheless, to answer your question specifically, I have darkest (brown) color in my hair and some warmer lighter brown highlights.
The key is, I stopped over-processing, over-styling, over-working, and wearing my hair out. I started the treatment I discussed in my article, I condition my hair day and night with coconut oil (because it is a light, deep penetrating oil). There are other conditioning hair dressings that are good for the hair too (i.e., jojoba oil, cholesterol, grape see oil), the point is what you want is to put moisture back into your hair and lock in that moisture. There are many hair conditioning treatments on the market (you can decide for yourself which works best for you). As long as you condition your hair each day and cover it with a self-warming conditioning cap you are guaranteed to see marked difference in your hair fast. But you must keep the conditioning treatment with the cap on to lock in the moisture; which key.
I hope I answered your question, if not, please write back and I will try to explain more about the benefits of locking moisture in Black hair that is damaged, over-processd and over-worked.

Black girls hair is way different from any other race of girls hair!
Some black girls hair is very thin and week, but most of us hair is very thick, napy, and peezy! Our edges continuly fall out worster than any other race hair and fot that to be treated we use doo gro! its greece and every day you put it on you scalp hair will grow if you continue to do so daily! And it also helps when your hair is starting to fall out! For black girls hair to be straighten we must use a perm, deep condtionig, hot combs, and a straightner! ( and you can also blow dry hair straight but not for all.
we need to let our perm sit in our hair for a good minute or so but not so long that your hair falls out! Then we have to rinse it out and wash the perm out! afther that you need to deep contion you hair to make it softh and shiny, and feel silky! If you dont conditong prepare to look like a frankin stine wife! if your going to get color in your hair af5ther you conditoing it put the color in then let is sit htne condtionig it out because color makes your hair very stringy nd make it fell like a wet broom! so afther color you must put conditone in and let it sit up under a dryer! There is so much more !
things that you cna use to help your hair:
dark and lovely
doo gro
mircle
piink lotion
panten or however you speel it for balck girl the one in the brown bottle
leave in condtioner
and there is way more!

Hair sheen is like grease but the thing about it is that you spray the grease out of a bottle. I know it is werid but you hair will be really long and it will hang to the ground. But follow my tips because if you use too many things in your hair your hair will be sore.
:D
