3 years ago I use some nair for the face to get rid of my hair on my upper lip. Well after just 2 minutes of it being on, it started to burn, so i rinse it off and was left with a chemical burn. My upper lip was red and still burning seriously. So I went to urgent care and got it tooken care of, but after a couple days I notice that my upper lip was getting darker, and darker. At that point it has left me with a dark shadow that looks like a mustache that is still there. I have tried a lot of lightening products to get rid of this and nothing seems to work. Its 3 years later and I still have this mustache shadow. After that incident I just stuck to waxing off my upper lip hair. Do u ladies know of any products that would premantely get rid of this shadow or lighten it up some? It is really embarssing for me when I go out, anywhere, because it is really noticable on me even from a distance. Because my skin is kind of a caramel tone this dark upper lip shadow stands out. Please help!!!!

Glycolic peels are nice becasue they go a bit deeper than most topical treatments will. Over time, the treatment will fade age spots, discoloration, acne scars etc...and lots of people, even with sensitive skin, don't have negative reations to the glycolic acid. The only problem is that they tend to be expensive at spas, running on average (depending where you are), $60 per treatment...and can range from 5% glycolic acid to 30% acid. (Merle Norman has a 10% glycolic treatment for at home use.)
Another fix would be to try laser treatments at a reputable laser clinic run by lisenced professionals. Again, expensive...but if it works, its worth the money.
