Some pain-bodies react to particular kinds of “triggers” - situations that resonate with specific emotional pain suffered in the past. Difficult childhood experiences with intimacy, money, domination, abandonment, neglect, abuse, etc., can cause emotional reactions in the present time that feed the pain-body.

Do you feel your pain-body become activated by certain situations or things that other people do or say? In other words, what are your triggers?

one of my triggers is money... my parents worked hard to support my family growing up so anytime i see someone wasting away their money on unimportant things, it drives me nuts. have you ever seen the show "my super sweet sixteen"... well, yeah then you know what i mean.

another trigger is when my intelligence is tested. i was always known in high school as "the smart kid," that's what my role was. so now when someone challenges me and implies that i'm wrong, i get angry and my ego flares!

money used to be a big one but I am coming to realize that we are given enough and if we believe we don't have enough then that is what is going to happen.

another one is when my boyfriend leaves me to go to school, i feel he might not come back because my dad left my mom at a young age and so i guess i feel the same might happen to me.
