Now that I am so aware of this concept, it's soooooo hard to live it. :?

Ok, how do you live in the NOW (a.k.a. the moment) and think about only today when we have to think about retirement, college education, kid's future etc. All of those things need future planning and anticipation of what may be, so how does one live only in the NOW.
:?:

is there a such thing as living day to day?

Then there wouldn't really be any growth because they wouldn't be able to plan for the FUTURE ...that's my wonder

I think that paying attention to the future is important, especially in those points you mentioned. For instance, where would we be at 65 if we had not planned for the future and saved for retirement? I think Living in the NOW is more about taking each day as if it's your last and appreciating all you come across. Be thankful for each person you encounter, never say you are too busy to do something with a loved one, and praise God for all he has blessed you with throughout the day. It's more about not rushing from one day to the next without paying attention to the things that pass you by.

Thanks for your perspective, it helps with understanding this :P

I think that you can prepare for the future, and deal with your past and still be in the now. I think that living in the now is being fully present in the moment without fear. If you are planning for the future, out of fear of some sort then you are not fully present, because true presence is awake and being awake means you are fearless, in the since that you have no attachment. So if you are attached to outcome or stuck on something that happened and fueled by that emotion you can't fully experience the greatness of the moment you are in.
So planning for the future can be such a enlightening experience, allowing yourself to create the experience that you want to have happen to you so you can evolve and become more, generating happiness so that you can continuesly experience the joys of life. What a beautiful thing. As long as you are out of the pain body as you are creating you are completely in the now.
And I think that is healing in it self for you, the ones around you and the earth.
