puffy hair

i have really puffy hair, i refuse to wear my hair down unless i straighten it first but id love to just be able to keep it wavy without it going puff, is there any way to do this? preferably without hundreds of products cuz ive tried loads and they dont work, there must be a simple solution can anyone help?

after washing the hair braid it and tie it quite hard (but not that hard so you get a headache) with a scarf till it's completely dry. Then take off the scarf and open the braids if you want to wear it loose. You don't have to brush your hair again only a few gentle strokes with the comb/brush to open the braids.

i want my hair pooofy nd al that long strait thin hair in the bottom. all in layers. ;] thts lyk punkish though. idk waht shampoo i can use to hav it stay lyk that. hmmmm..yadayadayada knwww ?
