Ok,,,,I'm 19 for about 45 more days and I have always been under the impression that
acne was supposed to like, be gone, by this time.
Well I've still got a face full. I think that I am a pretty good-looking chick thats trying to look more mature
and be taken seriously in the business world, This is pretty discouraging.
I have been watching Jessica Simpson talk about if for a while, so I finally broke down
and went for the "professional". I've only been using it for a few days
now, but I;m getting the feeling that It will do the trick. And not as expensive as I thought, but I'm not working yet so its truly
a catch 22 situation. Can't get a serious job with these zits and got to pay to get rid of them.
I'll let everybody know how it goes.
Wish me luck!
Love,
Tink

i'm 25 and i still get acne occasionally. i think 19 is still a little early for it to disappear. i hear that acne generally doesn't go away till your 30's, and even people in their 40's still get it from time to time. there are some great products out there though, so good luck! i don't know what type of food you like to eat, but you can also try to cut greasy food from your diet that always helps :o)

tinkerbell - have you seen a dermatolagist about this? sometimes it can be as easy as adjusting your sugar intake. maybe a little cardio to sweat clean the skin pores clean also as facial cleaners only clean the top layer of the skin, but don't get deep into the pores where they could be blocked. cardio is a great way to also get rid of some stress which also plays into the acne situation for some people.
also your insurance might cover most of the doctor/dermatologist visit.
kimbalaya has a great point on the greasy food ... messes everything up.
i'm sure you'll find your solution is just around the corner.

tinkerbell,
I agree with ravi and kimbalaya on cutting out the greasy foods, if you are eating them. Also drink plenty of water. I'll get zits if I'm super stressed out about something. I had one job that was just not working out for me. I was always sick and had acne. As soon as I quit the job, maybe about a week later, the acne problem went away...No joke.
Let us know how it works out for you!

i've struggled with this too tinkerbell. i'm in my mid-20's and still get acne. i've tried everything under the sun and the only thing that worked for me was birth control. that's because i'm fairly certain my acne is due to a hormonal imbalance. but i wouldn't recommend birth control because it does lots of other bad things to you, even if it clears up your face! - that's just my opinion. but anyway, sometimes it's just the way your body works and it's unfortunate. i'm sure there will be a day when it goes away. but i would definitely recommend seeing a dermatologist, they can help you try different things to see if anything works.
