Finally, a red carpet event! It was great to finally see an awards show on TV; after missing the Golden Globes and The People’s Choice Awards, it was refreshing to watch so many stars walking the red carpet and gearing up for an exciting evening dedicated to their craft. With several top notch performances by the likes of Alicia Keys, Fergie, Kanye West, Beyonce Knowles and Tina Turner, The Foo Fighters, Carrie Underwood, and Amy Winehouse, it was a successful night celebrating music. Best Moments of the 2008 Grammy Awards

Grammy Moment #1: Amy Winehouse Takes the Cake Amy Winehouse was the lucky recipient of five Grammy Awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. The singer couldn’t make it to the Staples Center for the awards because of the time it took her to try and get a U.S. Visa, so she performed and accepted her awards via satellite from London. In her emotional acceptance speech, Amy thanked her “mum & dad,” her husband, “my Blake, incarcerated,” and London.

Grammy Moment #2: Tina Turner & Beyonce Join Forces The legendary Tina Turner took the stage (introduced by Beyonce) and performed her hit “What’s Love Got to do With It.” She followed that up with a duet of “Proud Mary” with Beyonce. It was an energetic performance with plenty of dancing and awesome vocals.

Grammy Moment #3: Kanye’s Tribute to Mama Kanye followed up another great performance of “Stronger” with the much anticipated tribute to his mom, Donda West, and the song “Hey Mama.” Emotions ran high as Kanye sang about his mom with lyrics like “I said mommy Imma love you till you don't hurt no more. And when I'm older, you aint gotta work no more. And Imma get you that mansion that we couldn't afford.”

2008 Grammy Best Dressed List

It was a little rocky on the red carpet last night (we won't name names...), but at least you can always depend on the favorites! Once again stunning the crowds were Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, and Fergie - along with a couple more:

Carrie Underwood was a beauty in a floral Zuhair Murad dress and Mary Norton clutch purse. Her empire waist was embellished with jewels which drew attention to her tiny waistline.	Beyonce looked radiant in a light blue tulle gown with silver beaded trim by Elie Saab haute couture. She topped off her look with a gorgeous new ‘do – shorter hair with golden blonde streaks.	Fergie looked simple, yet stunning in her yellow Calvin Klein gown and Cartier jewels. Her dress hugged all the right curves and was the perfect color for her skintone!
Miley Cyrus sparkled on the red carpet in a silver Celine Dress and Sergio Rossi heels. Although it was her first Grammy appearance, she looked youthful and comfortable as she walked the red carpet.	Alicia Keys looked glamorous in her sapphire Giorgio Armani Privé duchess satin gown. Her coral clutch added a pop of color, and her mohawk-inspired hair added an edge to her otherwise chic look.	Natasha Bedingfield had on a stunning purple Reem Acra dress that was a perfect fit for her frame. With a belted waistline and draped fabric, this gown was a definite show-stopper!
