This year, make sure your man remembers with these direct, yet loving ideas. Tips for how a girl can hint to her man what she wants for Valentine's Day* Send him funny emails - Leave clever voice-mail messages on his phone
 - Window-shop together at the mall, pointing out to him “I’d love to have….”
- Circle items in mail-order catalogues and magazines and leave them in conspicuous places
- Put a list of gift ideas in his briefcase, on the refrigerator, etc.
- Put notes inside little wrapped present boxes and leave the boxes in different places for him to find and open
- Tell a girlfriend (or a female work-associate) to tell your man what you want
- After he showers and the bathroom mirror is steamed up, finger-write things on the mirror that you want
- With your man within hearing range, call a friend to chat – including naming things you want for Valentine’s Day – and talk loudly so that he can hear what you’re saying
- When you’re dining together, during conversation subtly mention things you want
- Leave post-it notes around, some with “sweet nothings” and others naming items you want

- Write “gift idea” messages to yourself on your PDA, based on things she’s said
- Ask one of her friends or a woman work-associate she’s friendly with to snoop around for gift ideas
- Look at catalogues and magazines lying around the house to see if she’s made notations
- Call your voice-mail every day for 2 weeks prior to Valentine’s Day to remind yourself to get on the ball and not wait until the last minute to go gift shopping
- Starting 2 weeks prior to Valentine’s Day, carry around a piece of paper and small pencil in your pants pocket so that you can write down any gift ideas that pop into your head, and therefore won’t be wondering “What did I think of?” when you go shopping
