DivaVillage.com: Your new English album "Rebels" is going to RBD: [It] is a combination of Pop, Latin rhythms, and a compilation of songs previously released in Spanish, and two new tracks by Dianne Warren “Wanna Be The Rain” and “Tu Amor.” Also one exclusive brand new Spanish track.
DV: What was the inspiration behind your hit "Tu Amor?" RBD: The inspiration behind “Tu Amor” was that Dianne Warren wrote it and we are all big fans of her work, so we decided to include [it] in our new English album.
DV: What are you guys up to now and what's next for you in your career? RBD: Touring the world doing press junkets, radio festivals, and lots and lots of promotion.
DV: How do you hope to influence people through your music? RBD: We will like to send a positive message to the youth and to all that the most important thing is communication. People think that we call ourselves “rebels” because we like to disobey, but in reality, we call ourselves “rebels” because we rebelled against injustice and things that hurt other human beings.
DV: When did you guys decide that you were ready to go beyond the soap opera "Rebelde" and begin making albums? RBD: Pedro Damian, and Luis Luisillo[‘s] idea was to do both from the start, and thanks to God, we were able to make it happen.
DV: Will you continue making albums in English or are you planning on sticking to Latin - or both?? RBD: The idea is to do it all, we love the idea of expressing our music and other languages so other people can hear our message.
DV: Are there any bands from the past that have influenced your music? Christopher says he was influenced by: “Michael Jackson and Foo Fighters” Dulce says he was influenced by: “Guns and Roses and Alejandro Sanz” Alfonso says he was influenced by: “Robbie Willams”
DV: What do you guys love to do in your down time? RBD: We love to rest and [to] stay with our love ones since we don’t get a chance to see them; we’re always working and on the road.
DV: What do you love to splurge on when you get the chance? “Lots of things,” Christopher says. He really likes “rare items.” Alfonso: “Everything electronics” Maite: “Clothes” Dulce: “Clothing” Anahi: “Clothing” Christian: “No preference - if I like it, I will buy it”
