- Do carry a handbag-size can of hairspray and some bobby-pins with you at all times to rescue your updo in an emergency.

Photo Credits: Salon Estique | This classic look has been one of the longest lasting trends for social parties or events. Hollywood stars like Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan often wear updos for Award Shows and red carpet events. This season shows us soft wavy styles. Nothing pulled tight or severe. At the salon, stylists are using hot rollers, curling irons and rollers to achieve these looks. Updos shout glam and red carpet! | Half Up and Half Down | If an updo is too stiff or uncomfortable for you, try half up, half down. This look is great for girls who have very thick hair; for them, wearing hair all up is uncomfortable and hard to keep looking flawless all night. By setting the hair on rollers then using the curling iron, you will get the hold needed and the iron will form those great wavy curls. | Mid Length and Shorter |

Ringlets that are too tight look old-fashioned and Victorian, so keep your short curls loose and natural. Finger comb and tousle your tresses when slightly wet for a true romantic look. Face-framing layers will help make a basic hairstyle more versatile and add much needed movement. If you have bangs, they should be pushed to the side and smooth. Try a rhinestone hairpin or barrette in the bangs to take this look to a new level. | Side Pony and Buns | Do what the celebrities do. Pull your hair back into a side ponytail or side bun. Gather your hair at the nape of your neck and secure with an elastic band, allowing a ponytail to fall over your shoulder into a mod look. Add a colorful scarf or wear a bun that's visible from the side. Add a headband or scarf. |
