Donna Asch, a native Californian from Sacramento, has always been the adventuresome type, yearning for new experiences. After graduating from UCLA, she moved to the Caribbean for three years and began working on a motor yacht and as the concierge for an exclusive resort. Although she treasured the beautiful scenery of crystal blue waters and soft white sands, California kept calling. After a stint in radio and public relations, Donna’s next adventure began when she moved to Los Angeles and started working in the casting department for a successful NBC television show. She worked her way up the ranks to casting associate. As a hobby, after long casting days, Donna began making jewelry to relax. Her designs earned such great praise from friends and co-workers, which fueled her passion and creativity launching her next career as a jewelry designer. She started a company with her first line of jewelry, Hailey Rings, a line of illusion toe rings and anklets.
Her newest and most innovative creation is a one-of-a-kind magnetic necklace line called “Magnetix.” A ground-breaking marriage of strong magnets with a latch design with unique, hand-crafted pendants. Magnetix were the outcome of a fashion emergency. Packing for a European honeymoon, Donna’s new husband insisted she pack light, putting a serious damper on her vision of looking stylish in Italy. She had originally planned to take enough jewelry to create a unique look for each day of their 17-day trip. Determined to find a way, Donna tried to utilize the same piece of jewelry while spicing it up a bit to give her outfits a different appearance. Then an epiphany -- how great it would be to have one necklace and a variety of pendants to change one’s look to coordinate with each outfit and still pack light. So when she returned, she went to work developing Magnetix! Donna Asch Designs have been seen on such television shows as The O.C., Charmed, Dawson’s Creek and Providence. While they have caught the interest of Hollywood stars and producers, they are reasonably priced to fit the average woman’s budget. |
