This Natural keratin protein treatment lasts 2-4 months depending how often you shampoo and the texture of your hair. In fact, it almost eliminates frizz, while making hair smooth and shiny without having to use expensive products or damaging flatirons and blow dryers. WHAT IS A KERATIN PROTEIN TREATMENT? Keratin protein is the same protein as the natural protein found in human hair. Therefore, this treatment will strengthen, rebuild damaged hair and keep it from further breakage! The process is simple. At the salon, your stylist will wash and clarify your hair until its squeaky-clean. Then they will apply the creamy keratin treatment (which by the way comes in multiple yummy scents such as chocolate and strawberry) to entire head, and hair will be blow-dried. After the hair is dry, to seal the protein into each strand of hair, your stylist will use a flatiron in small sections on medium to high heat, depending on your hair type, to complete the fusion of the protein into the hair! DIFFERENT KERATIN PROTEIN HAIR TREATMENTS Your stylist will give you 3 options. Depending on your hair type, formaldehyde free (all natural keratin protein), 2%, and 4 % formaldehyde, which are for more difficult curly, frizzy, thick, unmanageable hair types. After the initial treatment you cannot wash your hair for 48 hrs and you must avoid any shampoo’s that contain sodium chloride (salt). You will need a special shampoo, which your stylist will recommend for purchase. It is also not recommended to get your hair wet in any salt water (ocean, pool, hot tub, etc.) This will break down the keratin protein that is keeping your hair straight and frizz free. HOW MUCH DOES A BRAZILIAN KERATIN PROTEIN HAIR TREATMENT COST? Brazilian keratin hair treatment specialist, Tina Hunter, from Jacques Michael Salon in west LA, says the process takes about 2-3 hours depending on the thickness and length of your hair and offers a package deal for $200 including the special shampoo and conditioner, which normally runs 40$ for the set.
