How To Style Hair Like Rosario Dawson's Faux Short Hair (Faux Bob)
Actress Rosario Dawson is known for her versatility with roles. She is also known for her versatility with her hair. Here she wears her wavy long hair pinned up which gives her a faux shorter style. This style will work for you whether you have long or short hair, wavy or straight. Here’s how to copy her sultry style.
Rosario Dawson Hairstyle How-To Step 1: Prepare
Start this style with day old hair. If your hair hasn’t been washed for a day or so, the natural oils and previous product help to hold this style. The exception to this rule is if you have very oily hair naturally and next day hair makes you look like a grease ball. If this sounds like you, you can get faux next day hair by adding in a next day texture cream.
If your hair is cut short, you can start by taking a large barrel curling iron (about 1 ½” should work great) and curl 2” sections of hair all over, pinning hair to your head with a bobby pin as you go. Pinning the hair while it is curled will help the curls to set, which will make them last longer. If your hair is long, you can do the same thing, but concentrate on the top few layers of your hair. The layers underneath will be pinned, so you don’t have to worry about getting those perfect right now. Now, un-pin the underneath layers of hair (if you are working with long locks) and tousle with your fingers. Pin the longest layers up at the base of your neck by pinning the ends of hair at the start of your hairline.
For long haired locks, un-pin the rest of your hair (the top layers) and tousle those, blending it with the pinned sections. This should make it appear as if you have shorter strands. If you have short strands, you can simply un-pin and tousle hair, creating beautiful, soft waves. Hairspray is optional for either length of hair since pinning the curls and allowing them to cool helps them to stay. If you do choose to use hairspray, use it lightly. Because this is a soft look, it doesn’t need a ton of hairspray to help hold the style.
