10 WAYS TO RELAX AND ENJOY LIFE

Here Are 10 Ways to Sit Back and Enjoy The Simple Pleasures of Life!

School work, your part-time job, family life and friends are probably going to fill up your calendar for the next few months, so you will need to make a conscious effort to take a ‘time out’ once in a while. Simply doing nothing can help to reduce stress and anxiety, clear your mind and help you focus on what you want.

Taking some time each day or week to simply do nothing will also help you prioritize what is most important to you and live in the moment. Here are just ten ways to do nothing in the midst of a chaotic day or week:


Relax and watch the sunrise or sunset. Find out what time the sun is rising or setting on any given day, and head outdoors to take it all in.


Relax...laugh at yourself. Stop taking yourself so seriously, and poke fun at something silly you’ve done this week. It’s okay to laugh at yourself once in a while!


Relax and go stargazing. Stare at the sky for at least 10 minutes and you’ll feel like a kid again. Marvel at the constellations or make up your own pictures with stars to get your creative juices flowing.


Relax and pick flowers. Remember how fun it was to pick flowers from the garden when you were a kid? Head outside and pick a few of your favorites.


Relax and wear your pajamas all day.
Spend your day off doing nothing but lounging in your pajamas and relaxing.


Relax and read a poem or sing a song out loud. Recite one of your favorite poems or songs out loud, and play music along with it if you want to. Nobody’s watching, just do it!


Relax and draw something in a sketchbook. Head to the local park to sketch something interesting, or settle in at home and do a still-life drawing of something in the room. Whatever you choose to draw, just do it without distractions and focus on nothing else but the drawing.


Relax and turn off all your electronic gadgets. Switch off the computer, turn off the cell phone and make sure the television is nowhere in sight. The sweet sound of silence is a great way to lengthen your days and enjoy a few moments of peace and tranquility.


Relax and daydream. Close your eyes and think about your dreams. What did you aspire to do when you were graduating high school? What did you always want to do as a kid? Have you done it yet? If not, think about what needs to happen for you to fulfill your dream. If you’ve already succeeded at fulfilling your childhood dreams, think about what you want to do next. Don’t be afraid to keep dreaming and visualizing what you want in your life.


Relax and walk slowly all day. Have you noticed how young kids just wander around in an unrushed way? Unless they’re prompted by their parents, most children just walk slowly and take in their environment. Be a kid again, even for just ten or twenty minutes, and just notice the environment around you as you walk slowly and deliberately everywhere you go.
