Eyelash Enhancement Products for Short, Scarce or Thin Eyelashes
The new rage in Hollywood has made a right turn from plastic surgery and cosmetic injections to non surgical, non needle, brush-on lash enhancement products. For $39-$150 a tube, you too can have lashes like the stars, for 3 months at least.
This seems like it can get quite expensive, but if you calculate all the 'not so great' products we buy and try and then throw in a drawer to rot on a weekly basis, spending your hard earned money on a product that actually shows results doesn’t seem so unaffordable. At least that’s the excuse I tell myself as I continue pull out my charge card. Here are the best of the best in lash enhancement products.
EYELASH ENHANCEMENT PRODUCTS
EYELASH ENHANCEMENT PRODUCT #1: Latisse
Brooke Shields, the former queen of those fabulous 80’s brows, is now the reigning queen of Latisse, eyelash enhancement product. Brooke swears by it and by the looks of her lashes, I think it’s worth a try. Brooke is the spokesperson for Latisse, the first and only FDA approved prescription eyelash growth treatment for those with inadequate or insufficient lashes. Latisse is made by Allergan, the same company that brought us Botox and Juvederm. According to Latisse.com, the product is also endorsed by Anastasia, brow expert to the stars.
EYELASH ENHANCEMENT PRODUCT #2: Revitalash
Revitalash is another eyelash treatment that has had rave reviews. This product is made from a lash-plumping drug called latanoprost. Apply it nightly to the base of your upper eyelashes like you would eyeliner, and in two weeks you will see your lashes magically start to grow right in front of your eyes. Well, maybe it’s not that dramatic, but celebs like Hayden Panettiere and Kristen Bell are both big fans of the product. According to Sephora.com, Revitalash isn't FDA-approved and latanoprost can permanently discolor the skin, however, the creator just happens to be an ophthalmologist that actually developed the treatment for his wife, whose eyelashes were damaged through intensive chemotherapy. If that doesn’t make you want to run out and buy a tube, he also donates a portion of the Revitalash proceeds to breast cancer research and education.
EYELASH ENHANCEMENT PRODUCT #3: Neulash
Neulash is considered “high end” and can be purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue for whopping $150 a tube, which is approximately a three month supply. Neulash does use many all natural ingredients and is cruelty - free and paraben - free. Neulash uses bioengineered polypeptides containing amino and fatty acids with renewing properties that protect the lashes against breakage, while strengthening and creating volume. Neulash also contains Sodium Hyaluronate, a potent humectant, to provide extreme hydration to improve elasticity and durability. Other ingredients include Biotin, Panthenol, and Pumpkin Seed to help rejuvenate lashes and provide strength and shine. NeuLash is ophthalmologist safety-tested and can also be used to improve the appearance of sparse, thin eyebrows. And lastly, you can apply NeuLash to the lower lash line as well as the upper. For that price, there’d better be multiple uses in one product!
EYELASH ENHANCEMENT PRODUCT #4: Real Lash
Real Lash seems to be the most affordable alternative at $40-$50 online. According to the testimonials on RealLash.com, you will see results in approximately a month or so, which include growth in length and thickness and added volume in the sparser areas. This product, similar to the rest, comes in a tube that resembles a mascara tube with a small brush attached for easy application.
