SANDRA BULLOCK MAKEUP HOW TO
SANDRA BULLOCK MAKEUP: Skin
One of the most important parts of this look is beautifying the skin. Sandra Bullock's beauty is so eye catching because of her glowing healthy skin. So, your first step is to make sure your skin looks as perfect as possible. My trick to perfect skin in a snap = self tanner. A little color on your face always makes a huge difference and using a gentle self tanner, like Bare Escentuals Faux Tan, instead of the sun or a tanning booth with save your precious skin in the long run!
I also recommend using a treatment product, especially around the eye areas and if you have dry or more mature skin. VividMD Skin Care’s "Perfection C" Serum is a fantastic and effective product to use day and night all over the face and especially around the eyes. It is particularly helpful in the evenings after you have removed your eye makeup and false lashes, to soothe and smooth the whole eye area as you snooze!
For the cheeks, a powder bronzer may be the only color you need. However, if you are fair and feel you need something a little brighter, apply a soft peachy pink blush just to highlight the cheekbones. Powder blushes and bronzers tend to be great for any skin type and your color options are pretty much endless. Nars Highlighting Bronzer/Blush Duo is a fantastic option. And definitely use a contoured natural hair brush, like Mineral Contour Blush Makeup Brush, to apply the powder to the apples of the cheeks and lightly on the bridge of the nose.
Step 1: Apply a shadow primer, like Urban Decay Primer Potion, all over the eyelids to prep the eyes for color application and keep your shadow on all night long. Using a natural hair lid brush, like Benefit Cosmetics Fluff Brush, apply a neutral base and highlight color, such as MAC Eyeshadow in Vanilla, all over the entire lid and under the brow.
Step 2: In the crease and outer edges of the eye, apply a darker shadow in a deep bronze-y color, like MAC shadow in Sable, in a sideways V to elongate the eye. Upsweep the color a bit using a natural hair crease brush, like GloMinerals Crease Brush, to get the smoothest application. Apply a little at a time until you get your desired color and depth. Make sure you blend, blend, blend, so that the eyes look soft and even. Using a smaller shadow brush, similar to the one you used for the base color, apply the deeper color lightly under the eyes as well to give the eye balance and add a little drama.
Step 3: Black eye liner and mascara are a must for this look. Using a soft pencil liner like Two Faced Liquid Lava Eye Liner Pencil in extreme black, create an intense smoky eye. Apply lightly at first and then darken and blend out to achieve that smoky line. Blend liner as close to lash line as possible on the top and bottom lashes and sweep upwards at the end of eye with a natural hair angle brush, like Jane Iredale’s Angle Brush, to create that sultry cat’s eye effect. After liner is applied and blended, apply at least two coats of lengthening and thickening mascara, like Smashbox Bionic Mascara in jet black.
Step 4: Individual false lashes are definitely what makes Sandra’s eye’s stand out. And Hollywood lash expert Michelle Garbin Cobb of VividMDSkinCare.com says you too can learn to apply your own lashes at home easily, affordably, and literally in seconds. Ardell brand Duralash Naturals Individual Lashes and LashGrip Eyelash Adhesive are sold in every drug store and usually for less than $4 each. To apply, gently lift one lash cluster at a time from the tray with tweezers. Rest the individual lash on top of your natural lashes to make sure you like the placement and look. Holding the lash gently with your clean fingernails or tweezers, apply a tiny dot of glue to the end of the lash cluster and place on your lid, right on top of your natural lashes. Press the lash down lightly with tip of your clean finger or nail until the adhesive sets (about 30 seconds). Apply 5-10 lash clusters gradually from the middle of the eye and outwards toward the end of the eye to further accentuate that elongated cat’s eye look.
Step 5: For the eyebrows, pay special attention to making them a bit thicker and deeper. A nice full arched brow is definitely what you are going for. Use a soft brow pencil to create a fuller, more even brow. Then comb through your brows to blend and shape them. Use a bow pencil that matches as closely to your hair color as possible. Benefit Instant Brow Pencil is a great color and comb all in one.
Lastly, apply a sheer, shiny pinky nude lip color to your luscious lips. You want to avoid anything too matte since the look calls for a sexier more shimmering lip color. Stila SPF 20 Shine Lip Color in Sarah is a perfect choice.
