HOW TO GET MARIAH CAREY HAIR
MARIAH CAREY HAIR: Step1
Always start by cleansing and moisturizing the hair with a shampoo and conditioner made exclusively for smoothing and frizz control, such as Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Daily Shampoo and Treatment. Rinse hair thoroughly, towel dry, and apply a heat styling product, like Nexxus Heat Protexx Heat Protection Styling Spray, to protect hair and prevent damage from the heat styling products you will be using. This will also help prevent frizz and encourage smoothness.
Begin blow drying the hair straight in small sections using a boar's bristle paddle brush, like the Diamond Wood Boar Bristle Square Cushion Brush. Direct the air flow downwards and blow dry the hair from root to end to help control frizz and support a very soft and straight look. Use an Ionic anti-static 1875 watt dryer for the best results and when hair is completely dry, run a wide flatiron, such as Hot Tools 2" Ceramic Titanium Flat Iron, through your lovely locks to achieve that frizz free, pin straight look. The smoother the hair is before curling, the better.
After the hair is completely straight, smooth, and frizz free, begin curling in small to medium size sections using a 2 inch barrel curling iron, like Hot Tools Professional Spring Curling Iron 2 inch. Using a larger barrel iron will give the curls a looser, more bouncy look like Mariah’s. Before each curl, spray each individual section of hair with a firm hold hair spray, like René Furterer Laque De Finition Finishing Spray. This will give the curls long lasting hold and shine. Start at the back of the head and work your way forward, directing your iron backwards so the curls are aimed away from the face. When you have finished curling, run your fingers lightly through each curl to shape and loosen and then give your entire head one last mist of the finishing spray.
