Find the Perfect Dress to Wear under your Cap and Gown for Graduation 2009!

Way to go Class of 2009! You’ve made it to the end of your school year, but it’s only the very beginning of great new things to come! Graduation day, the peak of your well deserved celebration, is almost here, and that means you will be needing something fabulous to wear under your cap and gown!

Okay so maybe the ensemble you wear underneath it all won’t be front and center the whole time during graduation, but it will definitely be seen when you’re getting ready and when you go out to celebrate with your family and friends after the ceremony, so a decent graduation dress is necessary. Here are a few graduation dress tips to keep in mind:

• We recommend a dress for graduation because it is difficult to adjust skirts and tops to keep them from bunching underneath that gown.
• Pick a dress without any big puffy embellishments or extremely stiff folds. These will show through your graduation gown and look really strange.
• Choose a graduation dress that hits just below the knee or shorter so it doesn’t create length problems with your gown. The same idea should be observed for sleeve lengths.
• Define your waist. You’re already wearing a long loose, shapeless graduation gown; don’t compound the problem with a similar dress. Instead choose a dress with a nipped in waist that will show a better shape when you move.
• Lastly, choose a dress with an open neckline that won’t constantly be peaking out of your collar.
