JENNIFER GARNER UPDO HAIRSTYLE
Jennifer Garner will always be that sweet, yet sexy, girl next door. And even with her hectic life as movie star, mother, and wife, she still maintains that celebrated look we admire and hope to eventually achieve- even if for just an evening.
Jennifer Garner Updo Hairstyle: Step 1
To create Jennifer Garner’s shine and luster, try using a product line made especially to enhance your hairs natural brilliance, such as Charles Worthington London Big Hair Salon Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. Healthy hair shine’s all on its own and it’s never too late to start really taking care of your precious hair! Always rinse shampoo thoroughly and towel dry hair. While the hair is still a bit damp and before you start breaking out those hot tools, always apply a lightweight heat styling protector, like Nexxus Heat Protexx Heat ProtectionStyling Spray, to help prevent breakage and to smooth and de-frizz. Blow-dryers, straighteners, and curling irons can take its toll on your delicate hair.
This half wavy-half straight hairstyle calls for a bit of straightening and smoothing before curling. Begin by blow drying the hair straight in sections using a large boar bristle round brush, such as Conair ProtechBoar Bristle Round Brush, and an ionic 1875 watt dryer, like Bed Head Active IonicHair Dryer. This will give the hair some volume and de-frizz at the same time. It also provides a nice smooth, clean palette to start your curling.
Once your hair is completely dry and silky, begin to curl the hair in small sections using a larger barrel iron 1 ½- 2 inch curling iron, like BabyLiss Pro Ceramic Spring Iron. Using a larger barrel iron will create Jennifer’s loose waves instead of those tight kinky curls. Always start in the back, pinning up the hair you are not working with at the moment to get it out of the way. Work your way forward, directing your iron backwards for the hair on back side of the head to point the waves away from the face. Once you get to the front and sides of head, begin to direct your iron forwards so that the hair is naturally positioned to lie on or close to the face, almost cradling it. Using this technique will really shape the face and help style your updo hairstyle as well. Use the iron carefully for the sides and front, just creating a slight arch to softly embrace the face. Remember to spray each piece of hair with a firm hold hair spray, like Aquage Finishing Spray, before each curl. This will provide lasting hold and shine.
Leaving a few side and front (bang) pieces out to cradle the face, loosely pile the rest of the hair at the back of the head, bundling it at the bottom, center of your skull. I can’t stress loosely enough, otherwise you will end up with a tight, curly bun (we will save that style for another day.) Pin the hair using a cute barrette or an assortment of bobby pins to fasten the waves in the loose bundle. Once all the hair is secure and the front pieces are smooth and polished, give your entire head one last mist of the finishing spray. After that, only make minor finishing touches and then hands off lady! Your style will be admired all night long, just like Jen’s!
