BEYONCE UPDO HAIRSTYLE Step #1: PREPARE
Cleanse and condition the hair with an anti-frizz or smoothing product line such as Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Daily Shampoo and Treatment. Towel dry hair thoroughly and apply a lightweight shine serum like Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Serum to the entire head. This conditions and seals the hair while adding shine and reducing drying time.
BEYONCE UPDO HAIRSTYLE Step #2: STYLE
Blow dry hair straight in large individual sections using a boar's bristle paddle brush, like the Diamond Wood Boar Bristle Square Cushion Brush. Direct the air flow from the dryer downwards and blow dry the hair from the roots to the ends. Blow out bangs or front section of hair in a side sweeping motion to frame the face. Use an ionic anti-static 1875 watt dryer for the best results. If you have very frizzy hair, you may need to use a wide flatiron, such as Hot Tools 2" Ceramic Titanium Flat Iron, after you blow dry to achieve that sleek straight look.
BEYONCE UPDO HAIRSTYLE Step #3: FINISH
After the hair is completely dry, leaving the side bangs out and angled close to the face, gather the rest of the hair at the back of the head and roll into a neat bun or french twist. Secure with bobby pins or a fashionable clip and spray lightly with a firm hold hairspray, such as René Furterer Laque De Finition Finishing Spray to protect this polished style.
Long hair works best for most updo’s, but with the right accessories and styling products, shorter hair will be able to pull off this style as well.
