Achieve A Beautiful Natural Look with These Beauty Tips!

Have you noticed that the stars are looking a little less made up these days, out running errands and even at big Hollywood events, the fresh faced, more natural look is turning up again and again!  While many people associate the colder months with pale skin and heavier makeup to compensate, neutral makeup tones for face, cheeks and eyes are all the rage.  The right cosmetic choices can give you a glorious glow, no matter what the calendar says.  Check out my picks for a fresh faced look that will have heads turning.

GET ALI LARTER'S LOOK

FOR EYES

Stila Eye Shadow Trio in Gold Glow – This shadow trio offers 3 gold shades that can be used separately or blended to still present a very natural look.  Use the middle color with a wet shadow liner brush or try Benefit Cosmetics Gilded Highlighting Pencil to line upper and lower outer eye lids.  I recommend applying an eye shadow base to help shadow color stay true and last all day and all night.  Also, don’t line inner eyelids; that is a more contrived, fussy look and the goal here is natural and breezy.

FOR CHEEKS For a simple flush on your cheeks, try a cheek stain like Tarte Cheek Stain in Bronze Goddess or those with more oily complexions might like CoverGirl TruBlend Blush Powder in Shimmering Sands.  Ali’s blush is focused on the apples of her cheeks in keeping with the more casual makeup look.

FOR LIPS For lips, cultivate a pout with a more subdued shine.  Use lipstick instead of gloss.  A creamy lipstick such as Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Frosted is perfect.  Also consider applying Max Factor High Definition Lip Liner in Nude first, to act like glue for your lipstick.

FOR EYES Apply Maybelline Expert Eyeshadow in Silken Taupe  to lids.  At the very outer edge of upper lashes, apply two dots of dark brown eyeliner, blend, then coat upper lashes with 3 coats of Clinique Lash Power Mascara in Dark Chocolate .  Apply mascara in a continuous motion; don’t wait for it to dry in between coats.

FOR CHEEKS To achieve January’s pretty peachy cheeks, try NARS Cheek Color in Gueule de Nuit, swirled onto apples of cheeks.  Using a large brush (tap to remove excess blush before use) to apply blush helps to keep application perfect.

FOR LIPS Rosy peach lips come easily with Sephora Brand Slim Lip Pencil in Natural.  Line lips, then fill in entire lip area with the pencil.  Slick on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Peach Me, blot lips with a tissue then reapply another coat of lipstick.
