JENNIFER NETTLES' SHORT CURLY HAIRSTYLE

Toss Your Flat Iron and Embrace Your Curls like Jennifer!

hairstyles, short hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, curly hairstyles, jennifer nettles, short curly hairstyles, how to hairstyles, wavy hairstyles, naturally curly hairstyles Country music star Jennifer Nettles recently chopped her locks and embraced her naturally curly style. She makes having short, curly hair look effortless, but if your hair is naturally curly, cutting your hair short could easily create a puff of curls versus tamed waves like Jennifer shows off. Here’s a how-to guide on embracing your curls (almost effortlessly) if you have short hair.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK:

  • To get tamed tresses, start by asking your stylist for lots of light layering. Light layering will help decrease bulk, thus decreasing the puff. Layering hair around the face will also help curls look bouncy and not bulky.

  • When styling your short curly hair, pick styling products like Garnier Fructis Style Curl Sculpting Cream Gel. Cream-gel products are great for curly hair because the cream tames frizz and adds shine while the gel really defines those curls without being to stiff. Scrunch this product throughout towel dried tresses.

  • Next, use a diffuser attachment on your blow dryer and blow dry strands and scrunch until they are about 75% dry. You can blow dry bangs (if you have them) with a round brush for a sleeker look.

For a casual day time look, head to work, and when hair is completely dry, tousle upside down for a bit of volume and tons of perfectly coiffed curls. If you need something sexier, say for a night out, spray a thermal protectant product throughout the top strands. We like GHD’s Thermal Protector for Normal Hair. After spraying strands with the thermal protectant, touch up your top and front layers with a medium barreled curling iron like the 1 ¼” barreled Hot Tools Ceramic Curling Iron. You can then tousle tresses to blend your natural curls with the ironed curls for a seamless and flawless curled style.

For the finishing touches, spray hair with a flexible hold hairspray like Osis Elastic Flexible Hold Hairspray. This will keep your style soft and touchable but also keep away curl wreckers like frizz and fly-aways.
