AUBERGINE & PLUM FASHION FOR FALL
From Shoes to Dresses, this Color is Dominating the Fall Season!
Shades of purple are everywhere this fall! Celebrities like Lauren Conrad (The Hills) and Rihanna are donning plum nail polish to red carpet events, and both the East and West Coast Fall 2008 runways were saturated with aubergine (also known as eggplant) and plum designs from the likes of Marchesa and Jenny Han.
Anne Hathaway has been seen in the last month wearing every shade of plum under the sun, including her ensemble above at Elle Magazine's 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute. Anne shows us how sophisticated plum can be this fall, and what a great alternative it is to the little black dress.
Take a style cue from Anne and pick up a plum or aubergine dress to wear to the office or even to this year’s holiday party. There are also plenty of options for this color palette in the coat department; after all, who said coats have to be a drab shade of black or gray? If you’re just looking for a touch of this trend, mix up your outfit with a pair of plum pumps, boots or flats, or even a purple handbag.
Whichever way you choose to wear this trend, you shouldn’t have any problem finding options at each of your favorite stores. Add a little “pop” to your wardrobe this fall with plum and aubergine!
