THE LOVE GURU
Opens: June 20, 2008
Pitka (Mike Myers), an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India to be raised by gurus, returns to the United States in order to gain fame and fortune in the self-help business. His unorthodox methods are put to the test with his first challenge: to settle the romantic troubles and subsequent professional skid of a star hockey player whose wife left him for a rival athlete (Justin Timberlake). Also starring Jessica Alba, this latest Mike Myers comedy bursts onto the big screen June 20th.
Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, John Hancock (Will Smith) is an unlikely superhero. His well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. Hancock isn’t the kind of man who cares what other people think, and those people have just about had it, until the day he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman). The sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all when he meets Mary (Charlize Theron), Ray’s wife, who insists that Hancock is a lost cause. Hancock flies into theatres July 2nd.
Based on the hit television comedy of the same name from 1965, Get Smart follows the adventures of Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell), a less than impressive secret agent. Alongside the amazingly talented and gorgeous Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway), Smart must stop the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody’s transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice. 25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock-punching rut -- -until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie). Fox recruits Wes into the a secret society of assassins that trains Wes to avenge his father’s murder by unlocking his dormant powers. Also starring Morgan Freeman, Wanted hits theatres June 27th.
On an abandoned Earth where trash has taken over, a robot named WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) accidentally finds the means for humans to return to their planet. Another machine, EVE, leaves to tell humanity the good news, and WALL-E follows her into space. Heralded to be the most emotionally touching film of the summer, WALL-E showcases the voice talents of Fred Willard, Jeff Garlin, Ben Burtt, Sigourney Weaver, and John Ratzenberger. Coming to Earth June 27th.
Taylor Mendon (Matthew Broderick) was a compulsive gambler, recreational drug user, and drinker, whose bad habits threw his career off the rails. After kicking the alcohol and drugs, he only has one more hurdle...the horses. His beautiful 20-year old niece, Amanda (Brittany Snow), has her own habit to kick. Living in Las Vegas, her family has just discovered she is actually a prostitute, and they suspect she is also hooking for drug money. Taylor comes up with a plan to win his wife and life back by traveling to Las Vegas to find and deliver Amanda to a rehab center in Malibu – but things don’t go as planned. Finding Amanda travels to the big screen June 27th.
