Get Angelina Jolie's Cat Eyes
We Let the Cat out of the Bag with step-by-step instructions for this exotic Look! The cat eye look comes and goes but always seems to come back in fashion sooner or later. Proportion is key with this look; make sure the heavier concentration of liner is on the outer half of your eyelid. From about mid point, the line can gradually swoop up, creating the elongated ‘cat eye' look. You can extend the liner slightly past your own lash line for a more subtle cat eye look, or far beyond it for a look that screams ‘all eyes on me!' Here are step by step instructions for pencil and liquid eye liner and how you can create Angelina Jolie's fabulous cat eye look all your own! Using pencil liner: Step One: Make sure your eyeliner pencil is freshly sharpened. Begin by using the dot method from the inner corner of your eyelid all the way to end of the upper lid. Place the dots very close together. Step Two: Go to the middle of your eyelid, and where you see the outer edge of your pupil, take the eye pencil and draw a line slanting upward. You can carry this line as far as you want past your natural eyelash line. The further up you swoop your line, the more dramatic your look! Step Three: Use a small liner brush or the rubber tipped end of an eye pencil to slightly smudge the liner so the lines are a bit blurred and all dots on the inner half of your upper lid are properly blended. Step Four: Take the eye pencil and use the dot method only on the extreme outer corner of your lower lid. Use a small eyeliner brush or rubber tipped end of an eye pencil to blur this line. Connect this to the top liner at the corner of your eyelids. Step Five: Use a small liner brush to apply eye shadow over the eye pencil for all night staying power. Sweep the brush across the shadow, blow off excess and use short, quick strokes to trace the lines you made with your eye pencil. Using liquid liner: Step One: With as steady a hand as possible, rest your elbow on a tabletop if necessary, start at the inner corner of your eye and line to the end of your natural lashes. Step Two: Find the middle of your eye lid, at the outer edge of your pupil, and from there take the eyeliner in an upward slant as far past the natural lashes as you want for your perfect look. When using liquid liner I leave the bottom lid unlined as it places all emphasis on the top lid. A cat eye with liquid eyeliner is a more edgy look, as the liner can't be smudged.
