PROM 2009 FASHION GUIDELong and printed or short and edgy, this year’s Prom dresses are making a statement! |
PROM 2009 |
This year’s Prom dress trends are not for the faint of heart. We’re talking bright, bold, and brilliant; some all at the same time, and each and every dress we found is drop dead gorgeous. So this leaves us with a serious dilemma: which is better, a long and printed Prom dress or a short and edgy one? We are so torn that we even considered suggesting getting two Prom dresses and having a model-like ensemble change mid-Prom. But that would be going too far…or would it?
Long and Printed Prom Dress
Instead of the same long slinky one color gown, Rihanna has shown us just how much more of an impact a printed dress can make. The key to getting this gown correct is in choosing a simple silhouette, meaning no excess straps or big bows or embellishments. Let the print do all the talking.
Short and Edgy Prom Dress
Taylor Momsen shows us exactly how a Barbie-doll can go to the dark-side and still look amazing. Choose a short dress in a shiny fabric, or one with neon or rocker-like metal embellishments. Then add a serious edge with a leather, metallic, or embellished jacket and for the adventurous throw out those strappy heels and wear black patent booties instead.
No matter which dress you choose to go with, or maybe even both looks, you’re sure to stand out from all the other girls in their simple dresses!
