YOGA FOR ENERGY Don’t let Fatigue Get the Best of You; Break out the Yoga Mat for some Re-energizing Poses! | I’ve had a long day, filled with appointments with clients, paying bills, and running errands. As I approach home, all I can think of is taking off my shoes and enjoying a lovely glass of wine as I melt into the couch. My escape into a heavenly relaxation is quickly interrupted when I arrive home and am greeted by my boisterous beagle, Mikey. He has entertained himself for the better part of six hours today and has built up his energy reserve for my arrival—it’s playtime. I’m going to have to put off my Merlot and couch melting for at least another hour, but where will I possibly find the energy to keep up with Mikey? He wags his tail and barks, impatiently waiting for me to change into my comfy clothes. We head out to the backyard with the tennis ball and between throws across the long stretch of grass, I quickly get into a few of my favorite energy boosting yoga poses. I choose poses that help to open the muscles around my rib cage allowing me to deepen my breathing and bring more energizing oxygen to my blood; inhaling rejuvenation and exhaling the old, stale energy. Six poses later, both Mikey and I are ready for a long walk together. If you feel like you’ve been in a similar low-energy situation and were in need of an energy boost, then try these yoga poses next time to help you bring fresh oxygen and vitality to your body!
