Although bangs can give you that trendy and flirty style you’ve been yearning for, they can sometimes be hard to style at home. Here are some tricks of the trade on how to style your bangs as well as suggestions for different bang styles.
BANGS HOW TO:
Step 1: Wash Up
Always start with freshly washed hair. If you don’t have time to wash and style your entire head, just wash your bangs. If you’re in a hurry or just don’t want to bother washing your bangs every day, try a dry shampoo like Klorane Dry Oat Shampoo.
Step 2: Time for the Blow Out
If you want smooth bangs that lie flat against your forehead, use a paddle brush to blow dry your bangs straight. If you prefer more body in your bangs, then use a round brush.
Step 3: Style Your Bangs
After your bangs are clean and dry, apply the appropriate styling product. Texture always looks great in bangs, so using a texturizing cream at the ends like Got2B’s texturizing cream pomade; it will give your hair that extra bang!
TRY THESE BANGS OUT FOR SIZE:
To achieve super sleek, straight bangs like Lily Allen or Aisha Tyler, use a tiny bit of smoothing product like Tigi’s Bed Head After Party in your bangs before blow drying with a paddle brush. Then, smooth your bangs out with a flat iron after they are thoroughly dried.
To get that sexy girl-next-door look like Reese Witherspoon has, sweep your bangs to the side. Sideswept bangs can be styled with a round brush during the blow dry and afterwards, simply sweep them out of your eyes to get the look. If you want a little extra hold, spray a spritz or two of hairspray to keep your bangs at bay.
Beachy Layered Bangs
For that inner beach babe, try beachy layered bangs like The Hills’ Lauren Conrad sports. To get this look, mist your bangs with a texturizing tonic like Enjoy Texture Spray, then blow dry without a brush (just use your fingers). If your look still isn’t beachy enough for you, then add a bit more texture spray while pulling pieces apart with your fingers. This will give your bangs the exact beachy look you want.
Pulled Back Bangs
If you are in the process of growing out your bangs or just want them out of your face for the day, pulled back bangs is a fun and funky look for you to try. Check out Cameron Diaz’s super stylish look. To get your bangs to do this, simply twist them back off your face and criss-cross two bobby pins over the hair to keep your bangs in place.
You can try one or all of these bang styles if you like. Just follow steps 1, 2 and 3 to style your bangs perfectly!
