Beyonce Knowles Stars In “Dreamgirls”

This star-studded movie is sure to be a hit!

Beyonce is known for her talent in singing, acting, and even fashion designing.  This all-around girl has her hands all over Hollywood.  Her R&B voice also doubles as a gorgeous ballad voice, which makes her a perfect fit for the new movie “Dreamgirls,” which opens Dec. 15th in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, and everywhere on Dec. 25th.

Effie White (Jennifer Hudson), Deena Jones (Beyonce Knowles), and Lorrell Robinson (Anika Noni Rose) are three friends from the Detroit projects who have formed a promising trio called “The Dreamettes.”  When the girls compete in a talent show (along with Effie’s brother, C.C White), their talent attracts manager Curtis Taylor, Jr. (Jamie Foxx) who brings the girls to stardom.  As their fame multiplies, Curtis replaces the lead singer, Effie, with the more attractive Deena, and his romantic interests shift to the new lead singer as well.  “The Dreamettes” transform into the more sophisticated group, “The Dreams,” with a lighter sound and a chic look which brings them to international stardom.  As time rolls on, the girls begin to realize that money and fame don’t bring happiness, and a depressed Effie is dropped from the trio.  Deena’s life seems to be controlled by Curtis (now her husband) and she longs for freedom.  Lorrell is trapped in a dead-end affair with Eddie Murphy’s character, James Early.  Check out this movie and see if these ladies who were once so happy can find their way once again.
